Doing the Best I Can - 2nd demo lyrics

You know, for some reason, the song Doing the Best I Can has never been a favorite of mine.  I've always kind of disliked the song all together. But recently, I downloaded the demos from Ivory Keys (what an amazing page!), and wow, I'm totally crushing on this song now.  Funny how things like that change sometimes.
Like the previous lyrics I posted, this has some pretty major alt lyrics from the released version.

Doing the Best I Can (5:30)
Talking 1st
We were just looking for the beat, I’m punching sound stuff, but mostly I’m just looking for a beat.

It was one for you
It was three for me
It was very nice
It was you and me
So here it is
In little pieces
She says sometimes it hard
And I never like changes
Oh but you change your mind
Then you change it all around again
Just like a game she says
Then you change your mind
It’s just a game she says
And the clock is unwinding
Prepare for her departure
Well she’s always leaving
Your priorities are ancient
Well they say she’s always down with the broken hearted
These are ancient
Well they says she’s always down
With the broken hearted
He says, oh I hear you’re doing fine
And you’re doing the best that you can
Says I hear you’re fine
And you’re doing the best that you can
Made of the finest silk
She made her final plans
Said nothing
She go up and hill and come down again
And the whispered secrets
They go on and on
You say anything to anyone
She says sometimes it’s hard
And I never liked changes
So you change your mind
And you change it all around again
She says it’s just the finer things
She says I like to go fast
He says well you like to it
Save me a place she says
Racing with the wind
She says sometimes this is hard and I
Never like changing
Save me a place she says
Race with the wind
He says oh I hear you’re doing find and you’re
Doing the best that you can
He says oh I hear your find
And you’re doing the best that you can

Chiffon - unreleased demo lyrics

Chiffon

They met on an afternoon dreary
She - all in white chiffon
he in blue jeans and a white T-shirt
She knew she was falling in love -

Someone tapped her on the shoulder
As she leaned against the bar-
She turned around to face him -
As he pulled her down-
Everyone was watching-
But they talked on and on-
Believe this wen I say it-
It happens once in awhile

(Chorus)
And that was just the beginning
and there has never really been an end-
They've been separated most of the time
But when they see each other once in a while
Nothing seems to have changed
No changes

I'll see him soon, I feel it coming-
he walks in my life and out again
But it never stops-
No matter how much time goes between
and the feeling remains

New Stevie Nicks tint

I was looking a new photo to come out to inspire me to tint it, and when I saw the new photo shoot for the Relix magazine included a black and white pic, I knew I'd have to try and take a stab at it.

Here's what I came up with. I'm not thrilled with the result, but it sure felt good to miss with a pic again :)

Doing The Best That I Can - Demo Lyrics

Lately, I've just been in a Stevie mood. It must be my recent viewing of the In Your Dreams Doc or maybe all the news on the new FM tour? But for whatever reason, I've decided I really need to sort of rediscover my CDs of demos and outtakes. So as I listen to them and slowly update my Complete Demo List, I thought I'd transcribe some lyrics. I did a quick Google search, and I don't believe these are posted anywhere else.

This demo of Doing the Best I Can has some pretty awesome alternate lyrics. I adore when the lyrics change from demos to the actual produced song; so here it is, the lyrics to the almost 12 minute demo:

Doing The Best I Can – Demo (11:55)

It was one for you, it was three for me
It was really nice, it was you and me
You were everywhere, so I played the card
And I covered the losses
With the neverless changing
He says you change them around in your heart
And save me a place baby
You just change your mind
Everythings a game to you baby
And the whispered secrets
Only are a piece
You say anything to anyone anymore
I learn from you all about beauty
And you love with the love
the peoples soul
It’s alright baby
It’s alright baby, I’m doing the best that I can

And the curtains made of the finest silk
She made a few final plans
Says, this is me, and I can do anything
So, she made her plans

It was one for me
It was two for you
It was very nice
Just me and you
You were everywhere
So I played the game
And I covered the losses
I didn’t win or lose
I didn’t really know
But I paid the price

And it’s alright baby
And I covered the losses
But it’s alright baby
I’m doing the best that I can

And the curtains made of the finest silk
She made her formal plans
She goes back up the hill
Come down again

Cuz it’s alright baby
I’m doing the best that I can
Yes, alright baby,
I’m doing the best that I can

You care for her departure
You say she’s always leaving
Her priorities are ageless
If you believe them
They say she’s always down
Brokenhearted
Sometimes, she says break the spell, please
Break the spell for me
Just break the spell please baby
Break the spell for me
I’m doing the best that I can

It was one for you
It was 3 for me
It was really nice
Just you and me
So I played the part
And I covered the losses
No I didn’t win or lose
I paid the prices

But it’s alright baby
I’m doing the best that I can
Yes, it’s alright baby
I’m doing the best that I can

It was a 100% wishful thinking
No possible chance that I could work out
It was over before it began
Well it was a blue blue letter baby
And now I’m doing the best that I can
Doing the best that I can

Yes it’s alright baby
I’m doing the best that I can
It’s alright baby
I am doing the best, the best I can
The best I can
The best I can
Doing the best that I can

Platinum for Fleetwood Mac - Dutch Clipping

So, this little clipping goes with the previous one. Notice Stevie still has the stuffed animal and baby's breath in her hair? Again, courtesy of Google Translate:

Platinum for Mac
and double album that platinum outlet, is an exception in the plates world. The group from the hands of WEA-director Ben Bunders the double-platinum in reception could take, is therefore called Fleetwood Mac.
Of the double album "Tusk" were sold over 100,000 eksemplaren, a number that continues to grow weekly. What toys bessie on the picture must know all Truus van Dijk. That there will soon find at back.

Yeah, doesn't make too much sense, but you get the idea of what's being said 8-)

Beer for Stevie - Dutch clipping

Here's a great little blurb from a Dutch magazine. Google translated:

Beer for Stevie
After the Fleetwood Mac concert in Rotterdam , some enthusiastic fans offered Stevie Nicks a beer, which they see as very gilded. She brightened again completely, because she was not entirely satisfied with the concert.

Cool, huh?

Stevie Nicks Clippings

I've been photo trading for many years, so I have a pretty heavy catalog of scans from my collection just sitting on my computer, and I've decided I want to start sharing some.

I'm going start with magazine clippings, some of these old mags has such unique photos. I'll try and choose some with photos that I haven't seen a million times before and I'm going to make it a point to post them without watermarks 8-)

This 1st one is such a cool little clipping because it contains a rare tinted version of this Rock A Little photo. There are some funky colors going on here! It's such a little clipping, I wouldn't mind seeing a larger clearer version of this one.

Cool, huh? What do you think?

Work in progress

So, I was browsing through the site and decided to check out my "complete" demo list and wow is it outdated!! I haven't updated my site or anything on it in quite a while and I think it's time to start.

With that being said, I'm trying to find a good black and white photo to tint. Gosh, the last photo I tinted was almost 2 years ago! So, if anyone has any suggestions, please send them my way.

Here are a couple tints from "the archives". I don't believe I've ever posted either one before.
